Harper Adams currently has more than 4,000 students, with about 2,200 students on undergraduate and postgraduate awards, a number which is growing year on year.

Just as schools are assessed by OFSTED, every university goes through a rigorous independent quality assessment, conducted by The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). University College of the Year

September 2011 saw Harper Adams retain its position as the UK's Best University College in the annual Sunday Times University Guide, for the fifth year running.

National Student Survey

Harper Adams University College came eighth in the National Student Survey, published in August 2011, with an overall student satisfaction rate of 91 per cent. The survey represents the views of students from 152 colleges and universities nationwide, and aims to help potential students compare institutions and subjects to help them make a more informed choice about where to study.

Employment statistics

Harper Adams has an enviable record in employment terms, showing that our graduates are highly sought after in the jobs market. According to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) employment performance indicator, just 4 per cent of 2009/10 graduates were unemployed six months after graduation. These figures are based on a 97.3 per cent survey return.

Excellence in research

In the 2008 RAE (Research Assessment Exercise), 70% of the University College's research was rated as internationally important. The research/reach-out strategy is based on the theme of sustainable agri-food and land systems with strands in livestock and crop production, and their impact on, and relationship with, the food supply chain, food security, land use and natural resource management. The University College has excellent infrastructure to support its research including modern laboratories, engineering facilities and ready access to the University College Farm, as well as technical staff and a thriving community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.
