A holistic approach to food sourcing has meant the team now count food metres rather than miles and offer delicious, quality food to suit all tastes.

Supporting local business
Harper Adams Catering Services places special attention on the ethical sourcing of our food. We are very keen to promote local sourcing, therefore a great deal of the items on our menus come from producers nearby.
For example our bread comes from Jaspers Bakery three miles away in Newport, cheese comes from the Mr Moyden Cheese Company, milk from the Wells Farm Dairy in local Staffordshire, as a department we actively promote the use of local suppliers.
The University Farm on campus supplies pork & lamb and the Poultry unit supplies eggs reducing the food miles to mere metres in some cases. We are very proud of this sustainable food chain, allowing us to use fresh, seasonal produce on our menus, both for students and conference guests.
Harper Adams - A Fairtrade University
Harper Adams University assigns great importance to the University's role within the international community through the Fairtrade mark guarantee. Catering Services commitment to Fairtrade has led to Harper Adams being awarded Fairtrade Status.
Harper Adams sells Fairtrade products in all campus shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and vending machines.
Students wanting to voice their comments on University catering are welcome to attend the Food Committee forum whose members include catering managers & staff, student union representatives, student services representatives and students from all years.
