What is Rural Estate and Land Management (REALM), Rural Property Management (RPM) and Real Estate (RE)?

The Harper Adams REALM degree is designed to steer our students towards a career as a land and property professional.

That professional is called a Chartered Surveyor.

In practice they will work alongside solicitors, accountants and other professional people in providing advice to their clients on how they manage their land and property. Those clients could be estate owners, farmers, landlords, tenants or the owners of rural businesses. The advice that they give could cover a range of areas associated with land and property. Examples include agriculture, estate management, valuation, planning and development, taxation, farm business management, the sale and letting of agricultural land and property, construction, compulsory purchase, woodland and countryside management, field sports and renewable energy.

The career of the Chartered Surveyor is therefore varied and challenging, every working day can be different.
