These have been developed not only to provide generic management knowledge and skills, but also to focus on contemporary issues and developments by drawing upon Harper Adams' traditional specialist sector expertise. As such, students can, to a certain extent, tailor their course to a specific industry sector, and several specialised MBA routes have been developed to this end. However, all courses share a majority of the modules to ensure that all graduates will be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and understanding of all types of organisations, their external operating context and management. Students are required to study six core (compulsory modules) and two further optional modules, depending on which MBA route they have chosen.
The following table outlines the module structure for the MBA course (subject to validation):

Students who are unable or do not wish to follow a full-time course may attend the university college to study two modules per term (i.e. four weeks per year) for the first two years of the course, followed by another year spent writing a dissertation. A Certificate in Management Studies (CMS) will be awarded on the successful completion of the first four modules, and a Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) following successful completion of the next four modules.
