Postgraduate Study

Applying for Taught Courses

Entry requirements vary for each programme of study but generally the minimum requirement for postgraduate courses is a lower second class honours degree, or HND with experience, or equivalent. For all applicants, evidence of your previous qualifications is required. However, we judge all candidates on their individual merits. Non-graduates with significant work experience are also encouraged to apply.

English Requirements for Overseas Candidates

A minimum entry requirement on to all courses offered at Harper Adams for all overseas students is an overall Grade 6.5, using the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Alternatively, a minimum score of 575 is required using a paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test or a minimum score of 232 for a computer-based TOEFL test.

Applications

The deadline for UK and EU applications is early September, and mid July for overseas students, with courses beginning at the end of September or beginning of October.

Along with a prospectus you will be provided with an application pack including an academic timetable, fee details and module information if you are interested in a specific course. You can obtain an application form from the Taught Postgraduate Courses Administrator.

Joining instructions

Once you have been accepted onto a taught programme you will be sent a registration form, learner support form, plagiarism detection service agreement and application form accommodation, along with an invoice for payment (full time students only), and any other important information.

Deferring

You must apply in writing if you wish to defer your course. Please note that with the possible exception of Rural Environment and Land Management, all other courses begin in September/October.
