Harper Adams Initiatives

As part of the Marketing and Communications Department, the aim of the Schools and Colleges Liaison Office is to provide a link for schools and colleges to higher education and Harper Adams. We have specialist staff that can provide information and support on applying for Higher Education either at Harper Adams or in any UK higher education institution. Harper Adams continually looks to work in close collaboration with schools and colleges in our local area, and to reflect our national appeal, across the country.

Careers Fairs

We are happy, where possible, to attend your school or college career fair and convention, where we can offer practical careers advice to all year groups on career progression in the land based industry.

Presentations and Talks

We can arrange for speakers to visit your school or college to provide presentations on higher education and funding, student life, completing UCAS application forms, qualifications and different routes into HE, as well as a presentation on the courses we offer at Harper Adams. We also can arrange for specialist subject talks.

UCAS Higher Education Fairs

Harper Adams sends a representative to the majority of the UCAS higher education fairs that take place throughout the country from March to July. View the Harper Events Calendar for a full list of the events we are attending.

These events provide students and teachers the opportunity to talk in more depth about courses and life at Harper Adams and to pick up current literature such as the prospectus.

Taster Sessions and Visits

Every year Harper Adams welcomes school and college visits. Structuring the day to suit your groups interest, all visits encompass an opportunities to view the campus and talk to current undergraduate students. We run specific subject taster days, reflecting our courses we have hosted applied science – biology and chemistry visits, food technology and engineering design days, business and marketing tasters, most aspects of physical geography including countryside and environmental management, animal welfare and health days, leisure and tourism tasters and agricultural workshops.

If your school or college would like to arrange a visit to Harper Adams either to sample a subject or to experience a general higher education day, we can arrange that through the Schools & Colleges Liaison office.
