What is a Summer School and why attend?

On the way to Summer School

The UNIFEST Summer School, as part of the Aimhigher programme, is a taste of university life for Year 10 & Year 11 students. It is a three-day, residential experience, during which you live the life of a student, going to classes, meeting new people and getting involved in many social activities. It costs nothing to attend and all your accommodation, transport and food is provided free of charge. The aim of the Summer School programme is to help you make the all-important decision of whether or not higher education is for you.

Summer Schools are operated on a regional basis, so you can get a general taste of higher education at your local university. However Harper Adams is classed as a "specialist" university, which means that the courses we are offering are more specific and are aimed at certain careers.

Overall, it gives you a glimpse of what university life would be like and if you are unsure of whether to go or not, it might help you to make up your mind.
