Countryside Interpretation for Community Environments is designed for those involved with the management of small to medium size areas of recreational, heritage or conservation land and who are operating within small budgets. The course aims to stimulate grass roots interpretation and assist managers in the delivery of effective and compelling visitor education, information and management.
The course takes the participant through the basics of interpretation, identifying visitor needs, and the development of an interpretative strategy. It also considers the design, production and construction of interpretative media and interpretative evaluation. The course has a practical focus and will enable participants to produce or influence their own interpretation strategies and outputs. The course ends with a review of interpretative media from some of the leading exponents in the UK and North America.
