Teaching Duties

Teaching areas include leadership development, project management, social and environmental social responsibility and countryside management.

Recipient of CETL Aspire Development Fellowship Award 2008 for the development of online provision of Leadership and Professional Development. Recipient of 2008 Excellence Award for innovation in teaching practice.

Other Roles

Prior to joining Harper Adams, Emma worked in both the NGO and goverment sectors in regional management and project management roles. In addition she has worked overseas in the Pacific as an organisational development adviser.

Emma now manages the provision of postgraduate courses at Harper Adams and has overseen a review of postgraduate provision and facilities development.

Practitioner consultancy includes:

March/April 2008       Organisational Development Adviser, Tokaut Aids, Papua New Guinea

Short term consultancy researching and advising on the development of a new indigenous NGO aimed at increasing awareness of HIV/Aids using theatre for development within remote rural regions of PNG.

March/April 2006        Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant, Tanzania

Short term volunteer consultancy working with the Northern District Authority of Zanzibar, during which I assisted District staff and community based groups to review current planning, monitoring and evaluation practices and develop new planning systems.

Sept 2001 – July 2003           Strategic Planning Adviser, British Association of Nature Conservationists

Assisted BANC to develop and implement organisation and funding strategy. Facilitated a strategic planning workshop for Council Members.
