Feeling anxious or distressed?

The Government has launched a new freephone helpline called NHS Stressline. This is aimed at those who are suffering from stress, anxiety and depression due to concerns about debt, housing and employment.

The NHS Stressline is 0300 123 2000. It is open 8am-10pm daily.

The counsellors at Harper Adams are trained to listen to your worries and concerns, help you understand what is happening and then to support you in finding ways to improve your situation.

University can be a challenging and difficult environment, all students and staff at Harper Adams are welcome to visit us whatever your problem, big or small.

We offer a range of services tailored to Harper Adams, we have answered some regular questions on the FAQ page, but please contact us if you need any further information or to arrange an appointment.

International students

Harper Adams University College consists of staff and students from different parts of the world. These include migrants (recent and longer standing) and temporary visa holders.

Re-locating to another country is both exciting and challenging. The new learning required can be interesting but also frustrating. If the move also entails being away from family and close friends it can create feelings of quite intense isolation and loneliness.

Those returning to a home country often find that this also requires some adjustment.

The University Counselling Service is a multi-cultural organisation whose staff are well attuned to cross-cultural issues. You are of course welcome to visit the service. And you don't need a major crisis to justify a visit!

Chaplaincy

The College has an experienced team of part-time chaplains, with a range of denominations, who all have their own places of worship and congregations, as well as caring for the students at Harper. There are problems within agriculture and rural life upon which religion has a positive contribution to make. Students of any denomination, faith, or none at all are all welcome to call. Although the College does not possess a chapel, the chaplaincy team makes weekly visits and all can be contacted at home.
