Higher Education in Partnership

Reaseheath College

Reaseheath College has offered higher education courses in partnership with Harper Adams since 1990. Significant investment has been made in a new library, IT and dedicated study rooms at the college. Students at Reaseheath are full members of the Harper Adams' library and students often visit the Harper campus to make use of its facilities. Students completing HNC, HND and Foundation Degree courses at Reaseheath also have excellent opportunities to progress to degree programmes at Harper Adams.

Reaseheath is located on the outskirts of Nantwich, a fast growing Cheshire market town. The town of Crewe, with rail links to all major cities in the UK is five miles away. The M6, with easy access to Manchester, Birmingham and the motorway network, is within 10 miles. Manchester and Liverpool airports are within an hour's travel. Harper Adams is 30 miles from Reaseheath.

Reaseheath's facilities include a 200 hectare farm, with the world famous Genus MOET (Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer) dairy herd. The College Farm also contains a pig unit and sheep flock, and grows a full range of forage and arable crops. The remainder of the estate includes woodland, parkland, a stretch of the River Weaver, and a lake and several ponds which are used for conservation studies.

The Equine Unit has stabling for more than 30 horses, two riding arenas and a cross country course. A local veterinary group has an equine clinic on site which is often used for teaching and demonstration purposes.

Food studies facilities at Reaseheath are second to none with some of the best equipped food manufacturing and processing facilities in any UK college. These are supported by chemistry and microbiology laboratories for food analysis and quality testing.

All students, and particularly those studying horticulture and allied courses, enjoy the 12 hectares of landscaped grounds, a nine-hole golf course, demonstration fruit and vegetable garden, garden centre, plant nursery and greenhouses. Landscape design students can also access and make use of the extensive engineering and construction facilities on site.
