    Scholarships exclusive to Harper Adams

    Newport and District Agricultural Society (for students from Shropshire & Staffordshire)

    The Newport and District Agricultural Society (NDAS) Scholarship, valued at £1,500, is open to all Year 2 and Year 4 BSc, BEng, MEng and Final Year FdSc students enrolled in full-time education at Harper Adams University.

    Please Note: Previous recipients of this scholarship are NOT eligible to apply.

    To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must also:

    • Reside within the counties of either Shropshire or Staffordshire and have been a permanent resident in the county for the last 3 years. Please note: records will be verified with those previously provided to the University.
    • Not represent another Society. Students who represent another Society ARE NOT eligible to apply for this scholarship. The NDAS reserves the right in association with the University, not to award a scholarship should there be no suitable candidate.
    • Present at the Society’s AGM. The successful scholar will be awarded membership of the Newport and District Agricultural Society for 12 months and will also be required to give a presentation at the Society’s AGM in the academic year in which the scholarship was awarded (normally held in January).

    The Society will invite the successful scholar to attend the Newport Show in the relevant academic year awarded and have some mutually agreed involvement in its planning and organisation.  They would also be encouraged to develop a long term relationship with the Society.

    The award will be paid in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2025 and the remaining balance in May 2025.

    This is a competitive award which will be evaluated on the merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date and interview.
