Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society Student Bursary Award

The Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society annually award a bursary to the value of £1,000 to a person who in the opinion of a panel of judges has submitted the best dissertation (of 2,000 words) on how the bursary will assist them in their career progression.

Aim

To provide financial support for the successful completion of the student's course of study.

Qualifying requirements

  • The applicant is presently studying (or has been accepted to study) agriculture or allied subjects at a UK college or university at A Level/ HNC/HND/degree or post graduate level.
  • The applicants' main residence should be in the County of Pembrokeshire
  • The applicant or his/her family are fully paid up members of the Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society.

Entry requirements

  • A dissertation of 2000 words entitled "How the bursary will assist my career progression".
  • Completion of accompanying application form.
  • The closing date of entry is 3rd July 2015

Interview process

A panel of two independent judges chaired by a representative of the Society will draw up a short list of candidates who will be interviewed.

The winning candidate will be asked to give a presentation to the Show Council of the Society at a later date.

Proviso

The university attended by the applicant may be approached to verify the suitability of the candidate in terms of academic success and commitment to course and University.

Failure to complete the course will result in cancellation of the award and where appropriate re-imbursement of monies received.
