The objective of the John Innes Foundation Bursary is to establish an ongoing award to finance one student per year, who wishes to follow a career in Primary Crop Production in the UK, as opposed to an academic, research or overseas career.
The bursary will cover course fees and will be paid each term to the successful student. It will be awarded on a competitive basis, and only applicable for students taking on a 3 year degree course (or a 4 year course with a sandwich placement). Please note: if you are undertaking a placement year, the bursary will NOT be paid that year.
The bursary is being promoted to six universities who offer a crop based degree course. As well as couse fee re-imbursement, the successful student will be given the opportunity of working closely with Velcourt, the UK's largest Farm Management Company.

The students' progress will be monitored at the end of each academic year and they will be expected to present a short presentation of their progress to the JIF Trustees. After graduation, the student will make an annual report to the Trustees on their career progress.
