Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust (students from Devon or Cornwall studying Agriculture or related subject)

Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust supports Livestock Farming in Devon and Cornwall through Educational Bursaries, which are awarded to those intending to either be involved directly with Livestock Production or working in an ancillary profession that supports Livestock Farming

A limited number of bursaries are available for suitable students, with a lifetime limit of £4,000 per student.  These will be awarded on merit and will take into account the educational level of the course being studied and number of applications received in each year.  Awards are made at the sole discretion of Trustees; whose decision is final. 

Educational Bursaries

Applications are invited from students resident in the counties of Devon and Cornwall, for a limited number of bursaries of up to £1,000 per annum (with a lifetime limit of £4,000 per student) to enable them to study a recognised course or programme at a suitable college or university in the U.K. that includes aspects of livestock breeding, husbandry and welfare.

Please note that a completed application form, but without references, is required for each successive year.


To be eligible, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  1. Resident in Devon or Cornwall
  2. Study on a course or programme (first degree, foundation degree or extended diploma at a suitable college or university in the United Kingdom), which includes aspects of livestock breeding, husbandry and welfare AND
  3. Fulfilling the Trust's objectives to support those who intend to work directly in livestock production, or an ancillary profession that supports livestock farming, in the future.
