Please note: Eligible students do not need to apply for this award

Household income award thresholds

Students who started in September 2013

Household income £0-£25,000 - £1,000 tuition fee waiver (£0 in placement year)

Terms and Conditions

The bursary is available to full-time undergraduate students only who commenced their studies in 2013 and are studying towards a Harper Adams University award whilst based at Harper Adams University.

Household income must be within the boundaries stated above, and verified by Student Finance before 12th October 2018. Consent to share financial information with the University must also be provided by both student and sponsor to ensure household income can be assessed.

This bursary is made in the form of a tuition fee waiver. The Student Financial Support Officer will notify the Student Loans Company on students’ behalf and will reduce the tuition fee loan amount required.  Students from Wales will be contacted regarding their tuition fee waiver, however, all other fee waivers will be automatically processed.

Student movement

Should a student withdraw during the year, the fee-waiver will be calculated based on the tuition fee chargeable, which is dependent on the time of year a student withdraws.

Should a student transfer to another institution the bursary is not transferable and Harper Adams University will not be in a position to honour any previous award made to a student by another institution who transfers in from elsewhere.

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their Student Finance is in place to allow them to be assessed for the bursary.  Students will not be reminded of this.  If you provide your household income after the deadline of 12th October 2018 there is no guarantee that an award will be made as there are only a limited amount of awards available.

The deadline for the household income to be verified by Student Finance is 12 October 2018.

The deadline for students from Wales to reduce their tuition fee loan amount is 14 December 2018.

This bursary is paid for each year of study, provided:

  • the student remains registered in full-time attendance
  • the student’s household income continues to meet the criteria
  • the student successfully completes the previous year’s study and progresses to the next level of study in good standing with no restudy modules.

For more information please contact the Student Financial Support Officer, Andrea Whalley on 01952 815264 or at financialsupport@harper-adams.ac.uk or visit Registry, top floor Faccenda Centre.
