Hay Farms Scholarship (includes one year work placement)

The Hay Farms placement with scholarship is open to 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc student studying at HAU who are interested in a career in the poultry sector, particularly working with Hay Farms.  Only students eligible to work in the UK should apply.

Hay Farms is a family owned, managed and run broiler chicken and turkey farming business, with the family owning and operating sites from South Wales to North Yorkshire.  The business continues to see significant growth on the back of customer requests for them to increase their farming capacity. This success is a testament to the team that cares for and farms the birds every day and the company is looking to grow their talent base further by bringing in more key team members.  The Hay Farms' team is led by three brothers, all of whom are Harper Adams graduates.

Hay Farms may award one scholarship and, if awarded, the successful recipient will receive:

  • A significant contribution towards tuition fees of £3,000 in the year prior to placement.
  • Employment with Hay Farms during their placement year
  • Accommodation - housing on site, or nearby, will be available to share with the other placement student
  • As a rapidly growing poultry business, there may be opportunities within Hay Farms upon graduation

The award will be paid in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2022 and the remaining balance in May 2022.

Deadline for submission of application:  12pm Noon Wednesday 17 November 2021
