The 2020/21 Opportunity will be advertised in October 2020

Who can apply?

The Certis MSc Scholarship will be awarded to one student who is entering Harper Adams University in September 2019 studying for an MSc in Integrated Pest Management, completing research that is of direct interest to Certis. Certis provides reliable and profitable crop protection strategies through their innovative products and expertise in IPM development and implementation.  A leader in this field, their core focus remains developing innovative Biorational solutions for a variety of crops across Europe.  A key research area for Certis is the development of novel biorational control solutions for horticultural and arable field crops.  During this project, the student will have the opportunity to conduct early-stage bioassays on some new products intended for use as aphicides in arable agriculture.  The work carried out in this project will be part of a larger overall programme and there will be opportunities to interact and visit with key personnel working in this area.

The Scholarship

The successful Scholarship recipient(s) will receive an award valued at up to £5,000 for one year only.

IMPORTANT: to be shortlisted for interview, applicants must have a confirmed place on the course noted above at Harper Adams University at the time they submit their application.

All of the above conditions must be fully met for an application to be considered.

The scholarship will be payable in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2020 and the balance in May 2020.  Payment is conditional on the scholar remaining registered as a full time student at Harper Adams. They must pass all modules of study and submit at least one letter reporting on progress to the Development Trust prior to the receipt of their second payment.

This is a competitive award which will be evaluated on merit of the submitted application, along with academic achievements to date and interview.  The Development Trust embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity and access to higher education.  The Trust has been successful in supporting a wide range of students.  It strongly encourages applications from students of all backgrounds.  Where there are two applicants of equal merit, preference will be given to applicants who are from backgrounds that are underrepresented in UK higher education.
