Who can apply?
This scholarship is open to all 2nd & final year BSc/BSc (Hons) students enrolled on a full-time Land and Property Management course at Harper Adams University.
The Scholarship
David James may award one scholarship valued at up to a maximum of £1,500. The award will be payable in in May 2023. Payment is conditional on the scholar remaining registered as a full-time student at Harper Adams. They must pass all modules of study during the continuation of the scholarship and submit a letter of thanks for the sponsor to the Development Trust prior to the receipt of each payment.
This is a competitive award which will be evaluated on the merit of the submitted application and academic achievements to date. The Development Trust embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity and access to higher education. The Trust has been successful in supporting a wide range of students. It strongly encourages applications from students of all backgrounds. Where there are two applicants of equal merit, preference will be given to applicants who are from backgrounds that are underrepresented in UK higher education. The decision of the David James Scholarship Panel is FINAL and they reserve the right to withdraw their award at any time should they feel this action is required.
Note that there will be no interviews for this scholarship, and a decision will be made by the sponsor based on the content of the application.
In a document of no more than two A4 pages, give your answer to the following question:
‘Given the phasing out of agricultural subsidies, what advice would you give to a farming client for sustainable diversification of their holding?'
