The course

Harper Adams runs a number of top-up courses in engineering, enabling you to gain an ordinary degree over one year full-time, or an honours degree with between one and two years full time study.

These courses are open to students with a Foundation Degree or HND, either from Harper Adams or another institution. The modules you study will depend on your prior qualifications.

Entry requirements

  • Top-up applicants must have achieved an average of 55% in their Foundation degree to apply for BSc non-honours and 60% to apply for BSc Honours.
  • Applicants must have completed a full year’s placement as part of their course of study or two years of full-time relevant employment after their course.

Teaching and learning

BSc (Hons) students must choose between the Individual Major Project or Honours Research Project modules. BSc (Hons) Year 2 is a continuation of the Individual Major Project, which is typically studied over two academic years, with an individually negotiated submission date.
