When most people think of wasps they don’t think of plant ‘bodyguards’ - this group of insects are usually considered a picnic annoyance.

However, parasitoid wasps are incredibly beneficial to plants under attack from herbivorous insects.

In this session we will take a look at how plants recruit bodyguards and discuss some of the unusual biology that make parasitoid wasps effective natural enemies.
