Peter is the University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor with a wide ranging role of co-ordinating and leading the academic activities of the University. Prior to joining the University, Peter held positions at the University of Warwick, Horticulture Research International and Queen's University Belfast. Peter has wide research interests involving aspects of plant pathology and climate change and has led large interdisciplinary projects on the impacts of disease epidemics on the rural economy and land use, and also investigating the reasons for yield decline in oilseed rape. Peter is a Past president of the British Society for Plant Pathology, currently a steering group member of the Food and Farming Futures and Management Board member of the Agri Food Training Partnership.
