Professor of Crop Improvement

Research Interests

Over 30 years experience in crop breeding research, main interests:

  • Development of DNA based tools and plant resources for crop breeding, particularly field salads
  • Breeding for qualitative traits including:
    • Pest and disease resistance
    • Post harvest quality and resistance to abiotic stresses
  • Developing more sustainable supply chains
