Clare Keegan

Business Development Manager

My Business Development Role is aimed at strengthening Harper Adams University’s links and opportunities with regional, national and international businesses and other activities deemed appropriate
by the senior management team.

I have worked in Higher Education for the past 12 years, although I left for a short while to set up and Manage Apprenticeships for Large Retailers and develop a sales team in the Ceramics Industry.

My last focus in HE was to set up and support the development of degree apprenticeships and Employer links, including the operational aspects of contracting, funding and delivery for large employers.

I have developed business linked activity in knowledge exchange and enterprise, including new Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), training courses, business forums and events.

I networked with Partners across the West Midlands and national business/skills committees, Chambers of Commerce and subject specific organisations.

I contributed to bids for additional monies related to business and enterprise development from funds such as the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), European Social Investment Fund (ESIF) and the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Regional Growth fund. I have written many award nominations.

I delivered an ESIF project as a collaborative partner, for the Creative Industries. I managed collaborative and commercial relationships, project managing and monitoring budgets and outputs. I have worked with all industry sectors including Food and Drink Manufacturing, and worked with Harper on two previous projects during my time at the Lifelong Learning Network and National Skills Academy for Food and Drink.
