David Llewellyn’s earlier career involved posts at Queen Mary, University of London, King’s College London and the Institute of Psychiatry, a postgraduate medical school based at the Maudsley Hospital in south-east London. David joined Harper Adams in 1998 as the Director of Corporate Affairs. He took over as Principal of Harper Adams University College in September 2009 and became the founding Vice-Chancellor of Harper Adams University in 2012. A graduate of University College London, David also has a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Birkbeck College, University of London, and a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in Higher Education Management from the University of Bath. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers and of the Royal Agricultural Societies. Amongst other appointments he is currently the Chair of GuildHE and a member of the Institute of Agriculture and Horticulture (TIAH) Development Board.
