Clarke was Chief Executive of Anglia Farmers Limited, the UK’s largest agricultural input supply co-operative until his “retirement” in June 2017. Merging two small groups in 2002, he developed the organisation from £35m to £250m of revenues.

A Harper Adams alumnus, Clarke’s career included senior roles at British Sugar plc, Dengie Crops Limited and Dalgety plc.

He is currently Development Director for the Food Enterprise Park just outside Norwich and Chairman of Thursford Enterprises. He is also a Trustee of the environmental charity Norfolk FWAG and a Trustee of the Harper Adams University Development Trust.

His interest in developing the next generation for the food supply industry continues as a member of the New Anglia LEP Skills Board, where he leads on AgriFood for the New Anglia region.

Awarded the MBE in 2016 for Services to Agriculture and Rural Community in Eastern England.
