I am a passionate researcher committed to shaping the future of sustainable farming and plant-based nutrition.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First class degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Plant and Microbial Sciences. My Ph.D. focuses on the potential of faba beans to revolutionise UK agriculture and food systems. I'm exploring the optimal rate of mineral nutrition for faba beans to maximise biological nitrogen fixation (BNF). This approach aims to achieve both environmentally friendly agriculture and high-quality crop yields, crucial for a sustainable future.
I am excited to bring the first PGR voice to the Board of Governors. I believe in research with tangible impact.
As an undergraduate, I was involved in outreach as a Student Ambassador for Jesus College. I also rowed for Jesus College Boat Club and served as a member of the Committee as Captain of the Lower Boats (2020-21), organising training for new rowers.
I am passionate about encouraging young people into STEM and frequently participate in science-communication initiatives, including those run by the Cambridge University Botanic Garden. I also enjoy teaching and have been tutoring science and maths since 2018 and working as a freelance content creator for UpLearn, an online learning platform, since 2021.
Outside of my PhD, I love to travel and spent a month in South Africa working on a nature reserve. I also enjoy long distance running, strength training, escape rooms and spending time with cats.
