John Jackson, 20, from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire has been selected as the new CLAAS Scholar at Harper Adams University.
The scholarship will provide John not only with financial support but he will also undertake his placement year with the company, in the UK and in Germany.
The second-year BEng agricultural engineering student said: “I feel honoured to be awarded this scholarship as CLAAS are a leading name in agriculture and the experience of being abroad excites me.
“The experience to be gained is massive and will help with my studies. Working with one of the leading manufacturing in an environment where they are willing to teach you and to give you responsibilities.”
John will first carry out a three-month placement at CLAAS UK, Saxham, Suffolk. There he will be involved in training, after- sales care and getting to know the company before going to Germany.
At the company headquarters in Harsewinkel, John will work in the factory, with research and development and in teams on projects. He will be speaking and working in German, with language lessons provided.
