Nematology Research Group

The Research Group was established at Harper Adams in 1990 by Dr Pat Haydock.

The group consisting of core staff, PhD students and research assistants, works on aspects of the management of nematode, insect and molluscan pests of field and protected crops in the UK and worldwide. In addition to research the group is active in technology transfer, training and education, consultancy and commercial trials.

Academic staff

The core academic staff in the group are:

  • Dr Matthew Back - Senior Lecturer/Researcher in Plant Pathology & Nematology
  • Dr Ivan Grove - Principal Lecturer/Nematode Management and Agronomy Research
  • Dr Simon Woods - Senior Lecturer/Nematode and Engineering Research
