Staff and PhD students from the Nematology Research Group make regular contributions at national and international scientific conferences.

UK Conferences

UK conferences attended include those organised by the Association of Applied Biologists (AAB) e.g. the Advances in Nematology series that occurs each December and other themed conferences for which the proceedings are published in Aspects of Applied Biology or Annals of Applied Biology.

In 2000 Harper Adams organised and hosted the Potato Cyst Nematode Management Conference, organised through the AAB. Attended by over 80 delegates from throughout the UK it probably represented the largest ever assembly of people interested in PCN, emphasing the importance of this pest to UK potato production. Delegates included research scientists, agronomists, potato growers, policy makers and students. The 12 oral and 8 poster presentations covered research on distribution, detection, control and management strategies. Members of the Nematology and Entomology Group were authors on 9 of the presentations. Pat Haydock, Simon Woods and Ivan Grove chaired sessions. The proceedings from the conference have been published as Aspects of Applied Biology 59, edited by Pat Haydock.

Papers are also presented at the annual meeting of the British Crop Protection Council.
