    The AEA was established in 1875 to promote the technical, trade and commercial interests of British manufacturers and suppliers of agricultural machinery. Since then it has championed the cause of manufacturers of agricultural machinery and more recently outdoor power equipment. Today its members cover a broad spectrum of manufacturers of land based equipment from combine harvesters to secateurs and everything in between.

    HGCA - Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board

    HGCA is a division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), a statutory levy board, funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain and managed independently of both commercial industry and of Government. Its purpose is to make agriculture and horticulture industries more competitive and sustainable through factual, evidence-based advice, information and activity.

    Since 2009 HGCA have developing the Be PRECISE programme*. Bespoke training courses will be available for farmer groups, agronomists, advisers, machine operators and equipment suppliers. Training is offered as a series of half day modules for small groups covering topics such as operator skills, agronomy, data management, estimating variation and the cost-benefits of precision farming.

    *Be PRECISE is a knowledge transfer initiative that seeks to provide growers with the information and knowledge to make informed decisions about whether precision farming techniques are appropriate for their farm system.  

    Precision technology includes techniques such as guidance, mapping and variable rate application.  It can help improve the efficiency of farm operations including cultivations and better targeted fertiliser and agrochemical applications.

    C4PA currently exists online and holds workshops / seminars to develop and promote the different forms of Precision Agriculture.  The founders wish to establish a permanent base at the Harwell Science Park near Didcot in Oxfordshire, alongside the International Space Innovation Centre (ISIC).
