An evaluation of a novel nematicide for the control of potato cyst nematodes

Abstract

Potato cyst nematodes (PCN) are economically significant pests of UK potato crops. Presently there are limited chemical control options to manage these pests and the products available face an uncertain future under European pesticide legislation. A glasshouse study was conducted on behalf of Barrier Biotech Ltd to evaluate the efficacy of a novel nematicide (Nemakill®) against the invasion of potato roots by PCN.
