The Welcome Desk on the ground floor provides a number of services including:
There are two self service machines located on the group floor of the library. These machines can be used to issue books and renew loans.
The library is a shared space, so please respect other library users. We have very few rules in the library.
Please follow these rules for everyone's benefit:
There is a large number of study desks located throughout the library, providing quiet study areas.
There are a variety of study rooms in the library.
There are seven group study rooms which you can book here for up to two hour slots.
We also have two silent study rooms.
There are six lockers located on the ground floor that can be booked for the day. Ask at the Welcome Desk for further information.
The librarians on the enquiry desk, located on the first floor, can help you with all manner of enquiries including finding journal articles, electronic information and referencing.
IS Service Desk
The IS Service Desk, located on the first floor, provides advice and support with all IT and Audio-Visual (AV) related issues.
WiFi
Free WiFi is available in the library. Visitors should ask at the IT Service Desk how to connect to the wireless network. All students are provided with details of how to connect to the wired and wireless networks on arrival at the university.
Open access computers
There are a large number of open access computers located throughout the library.
The Bamford Library building is also home to the Kaldi Café and the Engineering Design Centre.
