Amy Bere, BSc (Hons) Agri-Business student, has received the Clyde Higgs Scholarship at Harper Adams University.
Amy, 22, from Doncaster, South Yorkshire said: “The Clyde Higgs Scholarship will help towards building the current lambing day we already hold on the home farm into a weekly event, to educate children and families, as to where their food is coming from.
“In the future, I hope to provide milking demonstrations allowing children to understand where their milk, cheese, cream, yoghurts etc., comes from and the tireless hard work which is put in the dairy sector.
“I find it fascinating how many young children have never been near a farm animal, I believe this is something all children should experience and something we take for granted.”
