An exciting new development at Harper Adams now enables working people to earn a postgraduate qualification through a project in your own workplace, whilst taking advantage of our vast technical knowledge and the confidential support of our expert staff. We are offering a series of bursaries for work-based industrial and professional development projects.
Basically, you will team up with a tutor from Harper Adams, and use your own workplace project to earn an academic qualification. This might be anything from a foundation degree to a doctorate, but will most often earn a postgraduate certificate, diploma or MSc degree.
Places are available across the full range of our curriculum, and as the country's leading provider of higher education to the rural economy that leaves very little uncovered. We are particularly keen to support applications in the engineering sector and general business management and marketing.
This project is very different to a traditional college course. Your programme will be built around a suitable project at work or in the community in order to develop your professional requirements. The first step is to see if your project is suitable by discussing it with us. The next step is to design a work programme which will satisfy your workplace requirements, and will allow you to demonstrate to us that you have earned the appropriate qualification. A tutor will then be allocated to your project to support you through your work.
You and your company will benefit from our academic resources and expertise in a highly cost-effective manner. And, unlike a one-off consultancy assignment, the expertise you develop stays 'in-house' afterwards.
The new bursaries will cover all fees associated with registration with the university college. Even if you do not qualify for one of the new bursaries this year you may still be eligible to enrol on the scheme.
