Suitably Qualified Person (SQP)

Following the introduction of the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2005, enrolments of new SQPs are now being accepted by AMTRA. Most students will find it highly advantageous to undertake an agreed programme of study to enable them to succeed in the examination recognised by AMTRA, the registration body, before being eligible for inclusion on the AMTRA Register of Suitably Qualified Persons (SQP). This course is designed to prepare participants for the examination procedure.

Modular course structure

AMTRA examinations will be related to the modular nature of the new course structure. Candidates will be examined separately in:

  • The base module
  • The farm animal module
  • The equine module
  • The companion animal module
