College Based Modules

Harper Adams can offer over 300 modules, selected to meet individual or company needs. These are taken as part time courses and college study is likely to occupy 1/2-1 day/week for 15 weeks. Details of these modules can be obtained from the Professional & Career Development Services Staff.

Work Based Learning by Research

Particularly aimed at individuals wanting to upgrade their postgraduate qualifications to Masters level. Research is carried out in the work place, and individuals are supported by the expertise, facilities and learning resources available at Harper Adams - a very cost effective way for companies to carry out vital research.

Work Based Modules

One of the most attractive methods of study for employers and employees alike. The module content, time, pace and method of assessment agreed between learner, employer and college by negotiated learning contract. This means that the normal work routine does not have to be disrupted, and the projects which are studied can be based on activities in the workplace, thereby enabling the student to continue to make a direct contribution to the company whilst studying.

Short Courses

These are normally 1/2 day to 1 week and are delivered at Harper Adams or are company based. Courses can also be designed to meet the specific training needs of a company and there is a wide choice of existing courses available to meet specific education or training needs. Examples of these are courses leading to the BASIS and AMTRA qualifications and courses fulfiling the CPD requirements of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) .

Independent Study Modules

A flexible way of studying modules for personal development. Learners can select whichever modules are of most interest to them and relevant to their employer. This method allows individuals to study subjects to suit themselves at their own pace and the modules are usually completed in the learner's own time.

The learner and the college agree on the module content, time, place and method of assessment with the supported of college tutors. Access to college library and learning resources with be readily available.

Tailor Made Short Courses

Following discussion of your company's training needs, courses can be designed to suit your exact requirements in terms of length, content and level.
