Entry Requirements for 2012
I am
and would like to study for a
New course for 2013 (Subject to validation)
The course
This course provides comprehensive training in modern wildlife management techniques and is designed to introduce key concepts of wildlife conservation, biodiversity and sustainable resource management. Students will develop a broad understanding of the scientific principles required for effective management of our wild flora and fauna, which is increasingly coming under pressure as a result of human activity. Combined with a sound scientific underpinning students will gain hands-on experience in the techniques of collecting, analysing, and interpreting data for the conservation and management of our wildlife and natural resources.
Work placement
The year-long industrial placement gives students the opportunity to work in a course-relevant wildlife conservation or resource management environment. This generates excellent applied knowledge and improves employment prospects.
Careers
Wildlife Conservation and Resource Management graduates can look forward to varied careers in a range of wildlife conservation related careers. Typical employment areas include: Reserve ecologist, environmental consultancy work in wildlife parks and zoos, working for charities and voluntary organisations including wildlife rescue centres, and practical countryside and conservation positions as rangers/wardens.
