John Oldacre MSc Scholarship

The Foundation awarded £1m to the University to provide funding for scholarships to be match funded by other charities or industry partners. In 2022-23 we are once again pleased to offer John Oldacre Foundation MSc Scholarships match funded by the legacy of Alumnus John Wright through the Harper Adams Club and also by the Harper Adams University Development Trust.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply for a John Oldacre Foundation Scholarship you must have been offered a conditional or unconditional place on one of the following full-time courses at Harper Adams University at the time you submit your application.

• Agriculture Science & Production Systems
• Agroecology
• Ruminant Nutrition
• Data Science for Global Agriculture, Food and Environment

You must be starting your studies at the University in Autumn 2022 and have achieved, or be expected to achieve, a minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree at the point of application. If an applicant is awaiting his/her degree results at the point of application, the award may be offered conditionally upon confirmation of the applicant achieving a 2:2 Honours degree or higher.

The Scholarship

The successful scholarship recipient(s) will receive an award valued at up to £5,000 for the academic year that they study on campus at the University. The scholarship will be payable in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2023 and the balance in May 2023.  Payment is conditional on the scholar remaining registered as a full time student at Harper Adams. They must pass all modules of study and submit at least one written report to the Development Trust prior to the receipt of their second payment.

The decision of The John Oldacre Foundation Scholarship Panel is FINAL and they reserve the right to withdraw their award at any time should they feel this action is required.

Deadline for applications

Applications must be received no later than 12pm Noon on Tuesday 13 September 2022

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a panel interview on Wednesday 28 September 2022
