Worshipful Company of Butchers (Gary Baker) Scholarship 2025-26

The Gary Baker Award has been established to honour the memory of the late Gary Baker. The endowment through which the Award is made is in the gift of the Baker Family and is administered by The Worshipful Company of Butchers

The Gary Baker Award is open to Final Year BSc, or Final Year FdSc students studying Agriculture, Animal Science, Agri-Food Marketing or Food Technology at Harper Adams University, who are interested in pursuing a career in the meat processing industry or associated sectors (e.g. food animal production, meat technology or meat packaging businesses).

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship you must have spent your industrial placement period in a UK-based red meat production and/or processing and/or related manufacturing business.

The successful scholarship recipient will receive a one-off payment of £1,000. The award will be presented by cheque at the Worshipful Company of Butchers' Dinner.

This is a competitive award, evaluated on merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date and interview.
