BSc (Hons) Agriculture student, Frances Thomas, has been awarded an Avara Scholarship in association with British Poultry Council (BPC) at Harper Adams University.
Frances, 20, from Brecon, Powys said: “I’m delighted to be receiving the Avara Scholarship.
“This is such a great opportunity to make the most of my placement and it’s a great achievement.
“The placement is a hatchery based role in Buckinghamshire, which produces chicks for Avara’s broiler producers. Alongside this, I’ll also be undertaking a project during my time there.
“In the future, I aim to take up a career in the rapidly growing poultry industry.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the BPC and Avara for making such scholarships available to students like myself at Harper, to help facilitate us entering a growing industry.”
