Success for Harper students in Royal Entomological Society Award

Harper Adams students have claimed both first and second place as well as having two runners up in the Royal Entomological Society Student Award.

Tara Sedgwick won first place with her dating site for insects, Abigail Enston came second with her short story on how a parasite affects ants, and William Rennison and Ben Howarth were the two runners up. Tara and Abigail will have their work featured in 'Antenna', a journal by the RES, as well as receiving prize money.

It is the second year running that Harper Adams students have won first and second place, as well as both of the runner up places.

The criteria for the entry read, "Any article about an entomological topic that would be of interest to the general public. The article should be easy to read, in a popular style and no longer than 800 words."
