£711.80 was raised from the Christmas fund-raising campaign as well as £88.20 from till collections in the university's cafes, Kaldi and Graze as well as the store in Faccenda. The Christmas fund-raising campaign included a coffee morning with a bake sale, a raffle with gift hampers as prizes and an online auction put together by Michelle.

Money was also raised by having a ‘Giant Christmas Card’ in lieu of sending individual Christmas cards to colleagues in the workplace.

Michelle also organised book clubs coming into the hosuekeeping department which they did so throughout the year and commission from this was then donated.

Jayme Shepherd said: “Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund our research.”
