Tips on social media usage before starting at Harper

    29 March 2019

Join Harper Adams applicant or similar pages on Facebook, talk to the people on there and perhaps even create a group chat like we did to get to know one another! This was a really important aspect for me to settle in at Harper was the feeling of knowing some people on the first day, that I could meet up with once we had arrived so that I didn't have to be alone on that first day, which is never a nice feeling.

As it turns out, a couple of the people that I got to know through the group chat before uni are still really good friends to this day, 2 years later! I also managed to find out who my house mates were before I moved in, which was nice as we could talk beforehand, which again helped me to settle in. Make the most of this opportunity before your first day to help yourself feel more comfortable and confident about starting at Harper! A friendly face or two in those first few days really helps!
