Nicola Blowey, who graduated in 2016 after studying BSc (Hons) Agriculture, has won the 2019 Trainee of the Year for the Canterbury-North Otago region. She will now go on to the National Final in May. Nicola travelled to New Zealand to work after finishing her studies.
As well as winning the regional award, Nicola has also won three of five other awards presented separately. These were the Ngai Tahu Farming, Farming Knowledge Award, Craigmore Community & Industry Involvement Award and the Dairy New Zealand Practical Skills Award.
Nicola, originally from Devon, was named Agricultural Student of the Year in 2016 at the British Farming Awards after being nominated by the agriculture course team at Harper Adams for her excellent academic track record and her significant contribution to the university community.
