John Nixon, 21, from Congleton, Cheshire is a fourth year Agricultural Engineering student and recipient of the Douglas Bomford Trust Scholarship for the second time in his university career.
“I come from a beef farming background in Cheshire and I chose engineering at Harper Adams because it focuses so well on connections with industry. This link between the university and industry really helped get my placement and hopefully a graduate role as a development engineer.
“I applied to the Douglas Bomford Trust scholarship after being awarded the scholarship in the first year of my studies. I am very grateful that I have been lucky enough to be awarded this scholarship again. The scholarship is planned to be spent on a 3D printer which will expand my capacity as an engineer.”
