During a recent visit to Ocean University in Qingdao, Becky Payne (Head of the Land, Farm and Agribusiness Management Department) gave a guest lecture on strategy for finance and economics undergraduates. She also discussed the upcoming summer school to be held at Harper Adams and future collaborations as a part of the Global Institute for Agri-Tech Economics.
During the visit, senior academics hosted a dinner at a local seafood restaurant (where you walk past the tanks of live fish and seafood on the way to your table).
Becky Payne observed “the levels of hospitality shown by our colleagues at Ocean University were wonderful, they took time to introduce me to so many of their customs and traditions. Teaching students back at Harper Adams will be much more informed experience. I now have examples of customs, traditions, consumer behaviour and cultural norms from China to weave into the business teaching I deliver in the UK. I felt privileged to share teaching experiences with this group of senior female academics from the university”.
