2019 Aspire Prize for Personal Development winner: Emily Benfield

    22 May 2019

During her placement year, Emily, BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science, worked on a commercial dairy goat farm in Gloucestershire, which currently milks approximately 800 goats to supply milk to Delamere Dairy.

Her main role involved rearing young stock, and Emily also undertook general farm duties including milking and foot trimming. Emily gained valuable experience in livestock husbandry and developed confidence in working independently as well as part of a team.

Emily said: “The placement has given me massive confidence moving forward and applying for jobs after graduating. I did a job that I’d not done before so that also gives you confidence trying out new roles in the future.”
