Gareth Clarke, MRes Off Road Vehicle Design, undertook his placement with HCI Systems as a manufacturing systems engineer.
Gareth worked on introducing an enterprise resource planning system into the company, which is used every day for purchase planning, work order planning and all the way through to dispatching products. He also worked on optimising internal processes to align with the needs of HCI systems whilst meeting the criteria to achieve an ISO 9001 accreditation.
During his placement Gareth learnt a huge amount about high performance electrical systems, ERP systems and gained an in-depth understanding into ISO 9001 quality standards.
Gareth: “It’s great having my placement employer from HCI Systems here with me. I’m looking to go back to work for them when I graduate after my Masters year.”
