Rabobank in association with Genus scholar: Sally Tyler

    3 June 2019

Sally Tyler, BSc Hons Agriculture, has been awarded the Rabobank in association with Genus scholarship.

The placement job role of Breeding Programme Administrator, with world leading bonvine genetics company Genus ABS, gives Sally the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas, including sales, service, group presenting and marketing, also working on show stands.

Sally, who gained work experience during a gap year spent working on a number of local farms, knows that being awarded the scholarship will have a tremendous impact on her career moving forward.

Sally said: "I wanted to seek a placement that offered an insight into the business side of agriculture. With a passion for livestock, particularly dairy and beef, I believe the Rabobank Scholarship, in conjunction with Genus ABS; a progressive breeding company, will provide an exceptional opportunity.

"Despite knowing little about the world of breeding I am excited to learn as much as I can from the 12-month experience and gain as many new skills as possible. After reading about the scholarship, I immediately realised it is a prestigious and competitive award therefore I was over the moon when I was offered the opportunity and most definitely didn’t have to think twice about accepting it. I would therefore like to sincerely thank both Rabobank and Genus ABS for offering me the scholarship."

Sally has a background in farming having grown up on a family dairy farm and, despite being a keen sportsperson in her spare time, considers agriculture her true passion.
